Public Services and Workers Squeezed while the Hospitality and Burger Barons gorge on their €681m vat cut applied from July 1st - A Government out of touch and out of ideas 11 weeks in advance of it’s budget ✊

The Summer Economic Statement puts fiscal squeeze on public services and erodes living standards.

Despite persistent inflation, a growing population, and ageing demographics, the overall fiscal package is substantially lower than last year’s, signalling a potential suppression of public spending when resources are needed most.

This package will squeeze essential public services to breaking point and do little to address the ongoing erosion of workers’ living standards.
