help my kid learn

help my kid learn Fun and easy activities that parents can do at home with their children to improve their reading, writing and maths skills. Children learn every day.

Organised by the National Adult Literacy Agency (NALA) in Ireland. More information at www.helpmykidlearn.ie and www.nala.ie From the moment they are born they start to soak up things like a sponge – at home, out and about, even at bedtime. As a parent or guardian, you are your child’s first teacher. Your home is a place where lots of learning is happening every day. Your most important job when

it comes to your child’s learning is to show interest and get involved. Indeed, you make a difference every day when you talk to and listen to your child. This is what helps your child the most. This page provides you with some simple ideas that you can build into your day to help them learn more. It highlights the way children learn as part of their everyday lives and especially the positive things that children learn at home from their families. Help My Kid Learn was developed by the National Adult Literacy Agency with support from the Department of Education and Skills.
