What an incredible week we had at the International Baton Twirling Federation European Technical Championships!
We had 14 athletes taking part in the competition and there were so many standout performances and magical moments!
In Solo 1 baton, we had Katie and Mia make it through to semi finals. Nicole, Drew and Layla made it through to finals with the following placements:
Layla - 🥇1st place, Level B Junior
Drew -🥉 3rd place, Level B Youth men
Nicole - 5th place, Level A Junior
In Solo 2 baton, Saoirse and Sarah made it semi finals. Megan, Layla and Drew made event finals with the following placements:
Drew - 🥇1st place, Level B Junior men
Layla - 9th place, Level B Junior
Megan - 5th place, Level A Senior
In Solo 3 baton, Saoirse, Layla and Nicole made finals, with the following placements:
Saoirse - 8th place, Elite Senior
Layla - 8th place, Elite Junior
Nicole - 9th place, Elite Junior
In Artistic Twirl, Mia made it to semi finals. Layla, Nicole and Drew made it to finals with the following placements:
Nicole -🥇1st place, Level A Junior
Drew -🥉3rd place, Level A Youth Men
Layla - 9th place, Level B Junior
In X Strut, Nicole and Drew made it to finals with the following placements:
Drew -🥈 2nd place, Elite Youth Men
Nicole - 4th place, Elite Junior
In Duet, Saoirse & Lucy, Nicole & Sarah and Drew & Katie made it to finals, with the following placements:
Drew & Katie - 🥉3rd place, Elite Youth
Nicole & Sarah - 9th place, Elite Junior
Saoirse & Lucy - 8th place, Elite Senior
In Artistic pair, Nicole & Sarah and Drew & Katie made it to finals, with the following placements:
Drew & Katie - 7th place, Elite Youth
Nicole & Sarah - 9th place, Elite Senior
In Twirl Team, we made it through to finals, finishing in 5th place.
In Dance Twirl Team, we finished in 9th place.
We also had 10 athletes taking part in Twirling Corps that finished in 5th place.
To be coming home with these amazing results and 7 medals is beyond what we could have dreamed of! We're so proud of each of you, and the hard work and dedication you show week in, week out. What a gift it is to share in these special moments with you ❤️
To top it all off, Ireland placed 6th in the overall rankings - an incredible result for a small country that is working hard to make its mark. 🇮🇪
