🌳 St Edmundsbury Saved 🌳 Last night, councillors from across South Dublin County Council came together to reject proposals to rezone St Edmundsbury and voted to keep its High Amenity Liffey Valley protection.

This is an important result for Lucan and for future generations, helping to protect these lands and the unique Liffey Valley landscape.

The decision received wide support across the Council and reflects decades of work by local residents, the Save St Edmundsbury group, community organisations including the Lucan Planning Council and the Liffey Valley Alliance, together with councillors past and present who advocated to protect these lands.

Thank you to my colleagues Cllr Joanna Tuffy Joanna Tuffy - Labour and Cllr Tanya McDondald Tanya McDonald Cllr who came together with me to support this cross party and to everyone who played a part in this outcome.

Lucan Village green long awaited reopening is confirmed for 1st May.

Lucan Village Green Reopening – 1 May 🌿Great to see Lucan Village opening up again and welcoming people back into the village. The village was very busy for the Lucan House grounds opening last Saturday — a real boost for the area, and everyone enjoying an ice cream in the sunshine.

Lucan House grounds will be open again this Saturday, so there’s another great reason to come in and enjoy everything Lucan has to offer.

The council advise that the newly enhanced Village Green reopens on Friday, 1 May, followed by Lucan Demesne in early May and the Liffey Weir later in May.

Lucan Village is the place to be this May 🙌
