This Men's Health Week, we are shining a light on Men's Health Forum Ireland, an organisation working on an all-Ireland basis to enhance the health and well-being of men and boys through research, advocacy, training, networking and demonstration projects.

By bringing together research, policy and practice, they are helping to build a society where men and boys feel empowered to look after themselves and seek support when they need it.

Their all-Ireland approach is a powerful reminder that, when it comes to health and wellbeing, collaboration across borders yields a stronger, more impactful response.

This Men's Health Week, take a moment to check in with the men in your life. A simple conversation can make a world of difference.

It’s great to have Men's Health Forum Ireland as a resident organisation at Carmichael. Learn more about what they do here: https://www.carmichaelireland.ie/resident-nonprofits/

Free Resource: Sample Compliance Calendar for Nonprofits

Compliance doesn’t have to catch your board off guard.

For many nonprofit boards, keeping on top of regulatory and governance obligations can feel reactive β€” things get missed, agendas get cluttered, and important actions fall between meetings. A simple compliance calendar can change that.

This sample template, developed with support from LK Shields Solicitors, gives your board a clear, structured way to track compliance requirements throughout the year

Is your organisation prepared for one of the most significant shifts in Irish capacity law in decades?

This free webinar unpacks the Assisted Decision-Making (Capacity) Act 2015, the landmark legislation that replaces Ireland's outdated Wardship system with a modern, human-rights-based framework that presumes capacity and centres the individual's will and preferences.

Join MaighrΓ©ad Kelly to understand exactly what this means for your organisation in practice, including the critical legal shift that means you can now only deal directly with the service user, not a carer or family member , unless a formal decision support arrangement is registered with the Decision Support Service.

This session will demystify the Act, clarify the new legal boundaries for your volunteers, and help you guide families through proactive planning before a crisis arises.

What does it actually take to build a strong reputation?

According to Alan Tyrrell, it comes down to four things: culture, people, operations and governance. Get those right, and the reputation follows. Get them wrong, and it works against you.

In a past episode of the Carmichael Governance Podcast, Alan breaks down what reputation really means for nonprofits and how to build it, protect it, and what to do when things go wrong.

It's Carers Week, and we want to introduce you to one of our Carmichael residents doing vital work in this space.

Care Alliance Ireland works with not-for-profit member organisations and others in their direct work with family carers, providing information, developing research and policy, sharing resources and facilitating collaboration across the sector.

Family carers are the backbone of care in Ireland. They show up every single day for their loved ones, often quietly and at great personal cost. Care Alliance Ireland exists to ensure that the organisations supporting those carers have what they need to do that work well.

Through research, policy development and strong collaboration, they are helping to build a sector that is better informed, better connected and better equipped to make a real difference to the lives of family carers across Ireland.

We are proud to have Care Alliance Ireland as part of the Carmichael community.
