We were delighted to mark Easter at Ozanam House with the generous support of Loreto College St. Stephen’s Green, who kindly provided Easter gifts for our members.

Their thoughtful contribution brought joy to many and is a wonderful example of community spirit in action.

This year’s World Piano Day (29 March 2026) marked a special moment for Ozanam House, as we were delighted to receive the donation of a piano from Iarnród Éireann.

Previously enjoyed by visitors at Pearse Station for almost a decade, the piano has now found a new home in our centre. Fully restored and tuned, it is ready to bring music, creativity and joy to our community. This generous contribution, alongside support for lessons, allows us to expand meaningful musical opportunities for people of all ages. Music has the power to build confidence, connection and create a shared language across our diverse community.

We are also pleased to announce that our piano lessons, led by Ronan Tierney, will resume in the new term starting 16 April. Our Adult Group Piano Lessons are designed for beginners and follow the Pianoforte and introductory Music Theory syllabus of the Royal Irish Academy of Music. While students are encouraged to take graded exams, the focus remains on enjoyment, participation and learning music that inspires them.

If you are interested in joining, please feel free to get in touch with us.

Our members have recently planted flowers in the windowsill beds to brighten up our Art and Catering rooms, adding a lovely splash of colour. They’ve also created festive displays by planting flowers in recycled glass jars decorated for Christmas.

The Gardening Club meets every Wednesday at 12:45. If you’d like to learn more about caring for plants, you’re very welcome to join us.

What We Focus on During Gardening Club Meetings:
- How to look after different types of plants

- Sustainability in gardening
- Succulent care and planting

Ozanam House is delighted to share a special collection of stories and memories from our Active Retirement Group!

These wonderful pieces were created during our weekly creative writing sessions, held every Wednesday here at Ozanam House.

“I live close to the Liberties and down by the River Liffey. It is old Dublin, near Christchurch and Jameson’s Distillery. I have a story to tell. This area is called Usher’s Island, and James Joyce’s House of the Dead is at No. 15. His aunts lived here, and it was the setting for one of his stories. It is a lonely, old house with character and dignity but has been left idle for years…”

We hope these stories inspire and resonate with you as much as they have with us.
