ITMA’s Drawing from the Well concert series is coming to the University of Notre Dame. Join us in South Bend Indiana tomorrow for a special concert celebrating the history of Irish traditional music in the U.S.

A few words from Christy Moore at the launch of Christy Moore: How Do Songs Live?, followed by his own song ‘Encore’.

It was an honour to welcome Uachtarán na hÉireann Catherine Connolly, along with many of Christy’s family and friends, to 73 Merrion Square for a very special evening.

The exhibition opens to the public this Monday, 12 October, and tickets are available now.

Tickets are now on sale for ITMA’s new public exhibition, Christy Moore: How Do Songs Live?

Come into the archive and explore this unique collection, which spans over six decades and includes lyric notebooks, correspondence, recordings, setlists, photographs, and more.

Listen to the 188 recordings Christy Moore made in ITMA’s studio, accompanied by stories and handwritten lyricbooks.

The exhibition opens to the public Monday, 12th October and will run Mondays-Fridays from 11am-5pm in bookable, one-hour time slots. Standard tickets are €12, with discounts available for students and seniors. Every Monday tickets will be offered at a pay-what-you-can rate, where visitors can attend regardless of ability to pay.

Today we officially launch Christy Moore: How Do Songs Live? at ITMA, 73 Merrion Square, Dublin.

Drawing from Christy Moore’s personal archive, generously donated to ITMA in 2023, the exhibition brings together material spanning more than six decades — lyric notebooks, correspondence, recordings, setlists, photographs and much more.

We are honoured to welcome Uachtarán na hÉireann Catherine Connolly to ITMA this evening to officially launch the exhibition.

Christy Moore: How Do Songs Live? opens to the public on Monday, 12 October, with tickets available from tomorrow morning.

Back safe and sound from the Ploughing 🚜 and straight into another busy couple of days.

A full house today for Mary MacNamara’s workshop, kicking off our new series of Free ITMA Adult Classes in Miltown Malbay.

Lovely to hear Mary talk about her musical influences, the importance of listening, and the value of sharing older recordings and repertoire with other players.

Siobhán Peoples’ class is also now fully booked, but there are still limited spaces available for the remaining classes.

After a great day in Limerick collaborating with TG4 at Gradam Ceoil on Saturday, we’re off to the National Ploughing Championships tomorrow, Thursday 17th September.
