The Star Project's 4 main programs are rehabilitation/adult education programs, which work with the individual to stay in recovery, while at the same time accessing resources within a varied and person centered program. The purpose of each programme is to develop potential, confidence, self esteem & learning skills, so that participants can re-integrate int their community as a positive part of th

Background Information:
The STAR Project Ballymun Ltd is a Community Employment Project for Women and Men in the Ballymun and surrounding areas. The project offers a confidential, professional and non judgmental service using a range of approaches including:
Community Reinforcement Approach,
Motivational Interviewing
CBT/Mindfulness Approach. The Drug Free programme is a 5 morning a week programme for participants who are fully drug free and looking for support to stay in recovery (need to be eligible for CE but there are some voluntary places). There are also options for afternoon group work, counselling and further one t one sessions. The programme is one year in duration, Transition plans coming from residential detox/aftercare centres can be arranged. KEY SUPPORTS
The STAR Project will provide Education/Training, addiction/recovery support and guidance through the following:
Assessment Process: prior to entry covers 4/6 one to one sessions. Key Working: Each client is assigned a staff member to support them while on the programme. Care/Support Plans, Participants will work with staff in developing their own care plan, looking at all areas they identify as needing support in. Progression: By linking in with a range of other agencies & organisations, participants are supported in different progression paths. Support is on-going after leaving the programme if required. Process Group and 1 to 1 sessions are a key part of the programme, as is aftercare support, once the client has finished on the main programme. We also offer Family Support programme, for family members who may be going through their own challenges and difficulties coping with a loved one's addiction problems.
