Introducing Shane Tierney, one of the eleven DoubleTAKE artists participating in “Interpretations” - the 2026 Group Exhibition by DoubleTAKE Supported Arts Studio.

Shane is a Dublin-based artist and a member of DoubleTAKE Art Studio since 2018. He attends the studio on Monday afternoons, bringing consistent focus and dedication to his practice. Shane is drawn to the subject of houses—imagining who might live inside, counting doors and windows, and even wondering what a doorbell might sound like. This sense of curiosity and storytelling runs through his work. With an immediately recognisable visual language, Shane creates bold, expressive drawings using energetic line, colour, and pattern. His primary medium is coloured marker on paper.

You can see some of Shane's fantastic artwork at the "Interpretations” launch, which will take place at 11am on Tuesday 25th August 2026 in Rua Red Café.

Introducing David O’Regan, one of the eleven DoubleTAKE artists participating in “Interpretations” - the 2026 Group Exhibition by DoubleTAKE Supported Arts Studio.

David is a valued member of the DoubleTAKE art studio and has been here since day zero. In his own words he is ‘unmovable!’ He enjoys time in the studio and finds everyone good humoured and helpful. His motto is ‘Life throws all obstacles in your way but you have to see the funny side of everything.’ David enjoys new art experiences and trying new materials. He enjoys the challenge of coming up with an idea when given an object as a starting point and his humour always shines through.

His two pieces in the exhibition are made from recycled materials. The Dalek in Space is made from egg cartons and bottles. He entitled it ‘We are not alone’ and for David art is limitless like space. “Art can go as far as your imagination can go.” His second piece is entitled ‘Neighbourhood Watch’. “You may think you are alone but we all know what you are up to!”

You can see some of David's fantastic artwork at the "Interpretations” launch, which will take place at 11am on Tuesday 25th August 2026 in Rua Red Café.

Art is an important part of Pat’s weekly routine, and he looks forward to attending each session. He is a highly visual person who communicates best through pictures, photographs, and visual supports. Creativity is one of Pat’s greatest strengths and is an important way for him to express himself. He particularly enjoys drawing, painting, and working with clay. Pat likes taking time to explore different colours, textures, and materials to create artwork that reflects his ideas and interests. He enjoys working at his own pace and takes great satisfaction in completing each piece, and great pride in showing his finished artwork to his family and friends.

James enjoys all types of art but really loves working with crayons and paint.
James likes to work on his own projects, and his work is dependent on what he feels on the day. He uses a grip holder to support him when doing his art. James loves meeting all the new friends he makes in the studio. His first piece is entitled “This is what we use for Halloween” and his second piece is entitled “James loves Manchester United.”
