Borne from the hearts of South Africans now in Ireland, we call on all people across Ireland to join us in celebrating unity, compassion, and the spirit of Ubuntu. Welcome to Mandela Day Ireland, a platform dedicated to promoting the enduring legacy of Nelson Mandela in the Republic of Ireland and Northern Ireland. Our mission is simple yet powerful: to honor Mandela's spirit of compassion, justic

e, and equality by inspiring individuals and communities to take action and make a positive impact in the world. At Mandela Day Ireland, we collaborate with like-minded individuals and organisations to shine a spotlight on the issues closest to Mandela's heart, particularly the well-being of children. Mandela's commitment to the welfare of children serves as a guiding light for our efforts as we strive to create a brighter future for the youth of Ireland and beyond. Central to our mission is the mobilisation of communities and groups to volunteer their time on July 18th each year, dedicating 67 minutes to serving others in honor of Mandela's 67 years of service to humanity. These acts of kindness and generosity embody Mandela's belief in the power of collective action to bring about positive change. In addition to our volunteer initiatives, Mandela Day Ireland hosts Gala Dinners in cities across Ireland throughout the month of July, starting with Cork on 20 July 2024. These events serve as vibrant celebrations of Mandela International Day, bringing together individuals from all walks of life to reflect on Mandela's legacy and recommit ourselves to the values he championed. Join us in honoring Nelson Mandela's extraordinary life and legacy by participating in Mandela Day Ireland. Together, we can build a more just, compassionate, and inclusive world for generations to come.

What an unforgettable evening celebrating the legacy of Nelson Mandela. A huge thank you to everyone who joined us and made this year’s gala dinner so special.

This chapter may be over, but the journey continues… We’ll be back next year, and this time, we’re taking it to D***** 👀Stay tuned for the reveal of our next event 💙We can’t wait to create more meaningful moments together.

Today, we ran with purpose. 🏃🏾‍♀️💚

A huge thank you to parkrun Limerick for welcoming us as we took part in this morning’s 5KM Mandela Day Run. We then came together for a friendly Mandela Day football match, where the Blue Team claimed the victory! 🏆⚽

As Nelson Mandela said:
“Sport has the power to change the world. It has the power to inspire. It has the power to unite people in a way that little else does.”

Thank you to everyone who ran, played, volunteered and supported today’s events. Your participation embodies the spirit of Mandela Day—bringing people together through service, unity and community.

Now, we look forward to an unforgettable evening at our Mandela Day Gala Dinner as we continue celebrating Madiba’s enduring legacy.
