Today we held a brown bag lunch drug and alcohol information session. This was held in collaboration with CYPSC and we had people from HSE, education, parenting programmes and mental health there, a great group from different backgrounds! We focused on understanding how to support young people who might be using drugs or at risk of using drugs, we also looked at the brain and discussed drug trends. A brown bag lunch is a space where we can have our lunch, learn some information, and discuss topics that are coming up in our work. In the Task Force we endeavour to make sure people have equitable access to services, despite their age, background, orientation, class or gender. Because of this we have formed an LGBTQ+ awareness committee with Cabra FRC, with the support of Outhouse. Today we held our first venture, a workshop facilitated by the fantastic Dr Caleb O Connor. Caleb helped us understand why our language and understanding around the LGBTQ+ community can be so powerful, and how this can vary depending on the person. Education is key and power is in shared connections. If you would like to be a part of our committee and work in Finglas or Cabra, please let us know. Looking forward to many more opportunities like this 🌈🏳️‍⚧️⚧️🫂💕💖

Recovery Month 2026 has begun! 💜

A huge thank you to Fast for inviting us to their Family Support Conference and giving us a space to talk about two very important services and supports available in the community. Our 5 Step Family Support worker Rachel O’Keeffe talked about the 5 Step intervention, and our DRIVE Project Ireland liaison Emily Meehan spoke about the DRIVE Project in Finglas

It was a fantastic day, full of informative and insightful workshops from Grainne O’Kane and Su***de or Survive
