🌟🦫 What an AMAZING day for our Donnycarney Beavers at the Beaver County Challenge! 🦫🌟
With 24 enthusiastic Beavers split into 3 teams of 8, they took on a variety of challenges that tested their teamwork, knowledge, skills, and Beaver spirit. 💪✨
We're incredibly proud to say that all three teams were awarded Gold Merit for their outstanding performance and excellent knowledge of Scouting skills! 🥇🥇🥇
The competition was incredibly close, with one of our teams finishing 3rd overall — a fantastic achievement when every point counted! 🎉👏
A special shout-out to all the Beavers who achieved joint 1st place in the skit competition with their wonderful performance of Killeagh, beautifully incorporating LAMH sign language. ❤️🤟 Their creativity, confidence, and inclusivity truly shone through.
Today wasn't just about awards and results — it was about friendship, teamwork, learning new skills, supporting one another, and having fun. Every single Beaver represented Donnycarney with enthusiasm, kindness, and pride.
We couldn't be prouder of all the Beavers. You were brilliant, you gave it your all, and you showed exactly what Scouting is all about. ⭐
Well done Beavers — you're all gold in our eyes! 🥇🦫❤️

A massive congratulations to our Scouts from the 58th/85th Donnycarney Scouts who took part in the Cluain Toirc County Shield over the weekend.

Our team competed against 7 other teams and put in an outstanding performance throughout the challenge. We are absolutely delighted to say they came away with Gold Standard and were crowned overall winners of the competition.

We are also incredibly proud to share that two of our Scouts received individual awards:

🏆 Ava Cosgrave — PL of the Challenge
🏆 Ieva Lopetaite — Best Chef of the Challenge

The leader team are beyond proud of the 8 Scouts who represented the 58th/85th Donnycarney. They worked so hard, supported each other, showed brilliant teamwork, determination and true Scouting spirit all weekend.

This result is a credit to each of them and a well-earned reward for all their hard work.

Well done everyone, what a fantastic achievement! ⚜️

🥞🍳 We’re taking part in the Childline Breakfast 2026 this May! 🍳🥞

The 58th/85th Donnycarney Scout Group will be hosting a fun and tasty breakfast morning in our scout den (date to be confirmed), and we’d love your support!

We’re fundraising for Childline, Ireland’s only 24-hour listening service for children and young people. Every week, Childline supports around 2,000 children through calls and online chats, helping with challenges like mental health, family life, friendships, school, and more.

Last year alone, they responded to nearly 77,000 phone calls and 31,000 online chats from young people who needed someone to listen.

💛 The well-being of children across Ireland is our top priority — and you can help us make a real difference.

👏 Huge congratulations! 👏

Well done to Conor, Neil, Brooke and Katie who have successfully completed the Scout First Responder First Aid Course. 🚑

A big thank you to for hosting the course, and to Derek Keyes from CommunityCPR for delivering such an excellent and engaging training session.

This is a fantastic achievement and a great example of the commitment our Leaders show to learning vital life-saving skills and supporting their community. We’re very proud of you all! 💙⚜️

Over the weekend our Scouts headed off to Belfast for an unforgettable group day out alongside and 14th Meath Kilbride 🙌

We packed so much into the trip — a visit to the outlets, a fun round of mini golf, and the highlight of the day: cheering on the Belfast Giants 🏒 Watching an ice hockey game up close was an incredible experience and one we won’t forget anytime soon!

A huge thank you to Porterstown for organising such a brilliant day out. Every single one of us had the best time ⛸️

Our Scout Group hosted their Christmas Bake Sale this weekend and it went absolutely amazing! 🍰✨

A huge thank you to everyone in the community who came down to support us — your kindness, generosity, and festive spirit made the day truly special. From tasty treats to great chats and plenty of smiles, it was everything we hoped for and more.

We are incredibly grateful for every bit of support. Events like this wouldn’t be possible without our fantastic community. 💚
