🌊⛵️ What a fantastic day! 🦫💙
The Beavers had an absolutely brilliant day out at the Irish National Sailing & Powerboat School in Dún Laoghaire! 😃
They learned all about water safety and sailing, got out on the water and, of course, couldn’t resist jumping in for a little swim! 🏊‍♀️🌊😂
There were lots of smiles, plenty of fun and maybe a few very wet Beavers by the end of it! 😆
A huge thank you to all the amazing instructors for making it such a fun and memorable day for the Beavers. ⛵️👏
Another brilliant Beaver adventure! 🦫💙🌊

Everyone involved with Donnycarney scouts is deeply saddened to hear of the passing of Mary O’Connor.

Mary was a huge part of the Donnycarney scouts in her over 50 years of service to scouting. Mary was well known by the current leaders who had the pleasure of having her as their leader back when they started their time in scouting, teaching them the scouting ways and always cooking some great food on camps.

Mary’s impact on the scout den and wider community is evident by kind words that have been shared of her over the last few days.

We would like to extend our heartfelt sympathies to Mary’s family and friends at this time.

May she rest in peace.

As another Summer Camp comes to an end, we’d like to wish our Scouts moving up to Ventures next year the very best of luck.

For many, this was their final Summer Camp as a Scout. Thank you for the memories, the laughs, and the adventures over the years. We can’t wait to see what you’ll achieve in the Venture section.

A brilliant week away at for our Cubs and Scouts.

We couldn’t have asked for better weather, and everyone made the most of it. Throughout the week they got stuck into loads of activities including kayaking, splatball, the inflatable water park, mini golf and plenty more.

It was great to see everyone trying new things, having fun and making plenty of memories along the way.

A big thanks to all of our leaders who gave up their time to make the camp happen, and to the staff at Star Outdoors for looking after us all week.

Already looking forward to the next one! ☀️🏕️

🧡 Monster Jam 2026 – Portlick Scout Campsite 🧡
What an incredible weekend for our 20 Beavers at Monster Jam in Portlick Scout Campsite! 🌞🏕️
Over two action-packed nights, we made memories that will last a lifetime through friendship, laughter, adventure, and plenty of fun. From kayaking and water wars to water slides, archery 🏹, crate stacking, zip wiring, wall climbing, obstacle course racing, and the fantastic monster parade, there was never a dull moment!
As the sun set, we gathered around the campfire 🔥 for songs, stories, and lots of smiles, celebrating an amazing adventure together.
The biggest highlight of all wasn't the activities—it was the friendships made, the teamwork shown, and the confidence our Beavers gained along the way. Watching them encourage each other, share laughs, and create unforgettable memories was truly special.
Thank you to everyone who helped make this weekend such a success. Here's to the adventures we've had and the friendships that will continue long after the tents have come down! 🧡
Adventure. Friendship. Memories. Monster Jam 2026. ✨🏕️🔥🛶🏹💛

🌟🦫 What an AMAZING day for our Donnycarney Beavers at the Beaver County Challenge! 🦫🌟
With 24 enthusiastic Beavers split into 3 teams of 8, they took on a variety of challenges that tested their teamwork, knowledge, skills, and Beaver spirit. 💪✨
We're incredibly proud to say that all three teams were awarded Gold Merit for their outstanding performance and excellent knowledge of Scouting skills! 🥇🥇🥇
The competition was incredibly close, with one of our teams finishing 3rd overall — a fantastic achievement when every point counted! 🎉👏
A special shout-out to all the Beavers who achieved joint 1st place in the skit competition with their wonderful performance of Killeagh, beautifully incorporating LAMH sign language. ❤️🤟 Their creativity, confidence, and inclusivity truly shone through.
Today wasn't just about awards and results — it was about friendship, teamwork, learning new skills, supporting one another, and having fun. Every single Beaver represented Donnycarney with enthusiasm, kindness, and pride.
We couldn't be prouder of all the Beavers. You were brilliant, you gave it your all, and you showed exactly what Scouting is all about. ⭐
Well done Beavers — you're all gold in our eyes! 🥇🦫❤️

A massive congratulations to our Scouts from the 58th/85th Donnycarney Scouts who took part in the Cluain Toirc County Shield over the weekend.

Our team competed against 7 other teams and put in an outstanding performance throughout the challenge. We are absolutely delighted to say they came away with Gold Standard and were crowned overall winners of the competition.

We are also incredibly proud to share that two of our Scouts received individual awards:

🏆 Ava Cosgrave — PL of the Challenge
🏆 Ieva Lopetaite — Best Chef of the Challenge

The leader team are beyond proud of the 8 Scouts who represented the 58th/85th Donnycarney. They worked so hard, supported each other, showed brilliant teamwork, determination and true Scouting spirit all weekend.
