✨ The Freedom Theatre Wins an AFAC 2025 Grant!

We are delighted to announce that The Freedom Theatre has been selected as one of the twenty awarded projects within the 2025 Training and Regional Events Grant by AFAC - The Arab Fund for Arts and Culture

Our new regional project, “Memory of the Body: A Regional Artistic Healing Lab,” was selected in recognition of our ongoing work in developing an artistic–therapeutic approach that explores embodied memory and collective trauma, while strengthening cultural collaboration between Palestine, Jordan, and Lebanon.

This project is implemented in partnership with:
• Al Balad Theater – Jordan
• Clown Me In – Lebanon

At a time when war, erasure, and marginalization intensify, this achievement reaffirms that artistic practice rooted in human connection can open new spaces for healing, storytelling, and cultural resistance.

Our gratitude goes to AFAC for their trust, and to our partners, our team, and everyone who continues to believe that the arts are a necessity, not a luxury.
We move forward… ✊🎭

Memory of the Body is a regional artistic healing project supporting vulnerable groups across Palestine, Jordan, and Lebanon. It integrates performing arts and art therapy through healing labs that help untangle collective trauma, culminating in an interactive performance, a digital archive, and a series of community dialogue sessions.
