What a great day we had yesterday at the Lorcan Family Fun Day. It was wonderful to see so many families come along to enjoy the day. Thank you all for your support. Days like today would not be possible without the huge effort and hard work put in by our volunteers and for this we thank you. You're all incredible. We would like to extend our thanks to Super Valu who always support us and are extremely generous with donations. It's greatly appreciated. To Mick our chef who kept us well fed all day (most ably assisted by Joan and Marie)and to the wonderful Louisiana Six who treated us to the wonderful sounds of the south and kept us entertained. Amazing guys thank you. The day was made even more special by the unveiling of a plaque in the Scouts Garden which has been named The Ron Downey Garden in memory of the man who started the scout group. It was our pleasure to welcome the Lord Mayor Daryl Barron to unveil the plaque and he took plenty of time to mingle with you all. I believe we have an open invitation to the Mansion House 😅😜. On behalf of myself Emma and the entire committee we would also like to thank all the traders who came along and created a great atmosphere for us. A special shout out to you all for supporting the raffle to help families in Gaza. A whopping 1,444 euros was raised 👏👏. We would also like to express our sincere thanks to Maurice from the Santry Scout group for providing us with the BBQ, grill and large gazebo. Couldn't have managed without them. 👍.. I sincerely hope that I didn't forget anyone but If I did I'm sorry so once again for whatever part you played, no matter how big or small, thank you so much and hopefully we'll do it all again .

We are thrilled to bring our annual Family Fun Day to Lorcan on Saturday 22nd of August in our Community Hall, Lorcan Green. This year we are going to run an indoor/ ourdoor market. We are looking for local artists, crafters, makers, bakers. Or would you like to clear our your closet, have lots of toys that your kids don't use anymore, or do you have some items you would like to clear out of your house, maybe share a pitch with your neighbour? This could be the time for you to do it! We will focus on sustainability for this market, think Recycle, Reuse (maybe you are done with stuff that new families could use). Join your neighbours on Sat 18th and do a clean up of your road. Bags, gloves and hi vis vests available from the Lorcan Clubhouse 11-1 pm. Many hands make light work !
