“It doesn’t just ease financial pressure, it creates opportunities.”

Mildred’s journey is just one example of the impact of the Tuath Foundation’s New Horizons Education Bursary. As a Cost Rental resident in Dublin 24, the bursary enabled her to pursue her ACCA qualification while progressing in her role as an assistant accountant, turning ambition into achievable career goals.

As highlighted in Tuath Housing’s Annual Report 2025, investment in people is just as important as investment in homes.

Since its launch in 2023, the New Horizons Education Bursary has supported residents to access education and training, build confidence, develop skills and unlock new opportunities, helping to build brighter futures.

Stories like Mildred’s show how Tuath is supporting residents not just to live well, but to grow, succeed and move forward with confidence.

Providing more homes for more people, with purpose, scale and community is at the heart of everything we do, as highlighted in our Annual Report 2025.

In 2025, Tuath provided 2,268 homes nationwide, while continuing to build stronger, more sustainable communities.

Reflecting on the year, Chief Executive Sean O’Connor shared:
“Our mission is clear: providing more homes for people. Our approach is to operate at scale, with purpose, and with people and communities at the core of what we do.”

But growth is about more than numbers. As Sean highlights:
“Scaling up is not an end in itself; it is a means to providing more homes, delivering high quality services, and increasing investment for tenants.”

By the end of 2025, with over 17,000 homes now under management, our ambition is not simply to be bigger, but to create greater social impact by delivering long-term value, stability and opportunity for communities across Ireland.

Recently, staff from Tuath's Customer Engagement, Sustainability, Housing and Sustainment management teams visited the Habitat ReStore in Glasnevin, where we met with Niall McConkey, Retore Impact Manager to discuss how Tuath and ReStore could work together.

This new collaboration with Habitat for Humanity Ireland and their social enterprise ReStore, is a partnership that has real potential to benefit our residents, strengthen our sustainability efforts and reduce waste.

What ReStore Offers
ReStore accepts a wide range of surplus building materials, fixtures, appliances, flooring, lighting and furniture from both home and office settings. This includes items such as timber, tiles, tools, kitchen units, white goods, carpets, lighting, paint and good quality furniture. These materials are then made available at affordable prices to individuals and community groups, helping to reduce waste and support those who need it most. By giving these items a second life, fewer materials end up in landfill, supporting both our sustainability goals and the wider community.

Why This Partnership Matters
A collaboration with ReStore aligns strongly with Tuath’s sustainability, sustainment and customer engagement goals and offers practical support for residents who may be setting up or maintaining their homes.

There are currently Habitat ReStores open in Glasnevin, Drogheda, Belfast, Lisburn, Ballymena, Newry, Newtownards and Lisnagelvin, with plans to open a new store in Athlone later this year.

This week, Tuath launched its Annual Report for 2025, reflecting on another strong year for our organisation.

A key theme of this report is scale, and the idea that greater delivery allows us to have a greater impact; giving more people across Ireland a place to call home.

Residents are central to what we do, and their stories are what drive us in our commitment to deliver at scale. We are proud to feature a number of resident stories in this report.
