East wall water sports group is a non-profit organisation run by volunteers and working primarily with the young people of East Wall and surrounding neighbourhoods to take part in activities on the water. What we do
Splash and Dash days - we cater to groups wanting to get on the water and have fun. Qualified instructors take groups on sit-on-top kayaks and inflatable rafts. These sessions are sui
table for absolute beginners, school groups, summer projects, private parties and corporate events. Kayaking - our instructors run Irish Canoe Union accredited level 1 and 2 courses. Groups of 6 per instructor - booking essential. Rowing - our Currach and Skiff clubs take to the water most weekends. The times can be found on their page updates (see below). These sessions are open to the public and suitable for beginners. No booking necessary although advised for large groups. A 3euro contribution per row is asked. We will post regular updates from our rowing, sailing, swimming sections on dates and times that we will be inviting people out for a spin. All are welcome from absolute beginners to pros. Where to find us
We take to the water from East Wall Water Sports Centre, Dublin 3. There is parking available within the center grounds if driving and it is a very safe place to lock up a bike. If arriving by public transport the handiest thing to do is get the Dart to Clontarf, exit the back door of the dart station and cross over the Alfie Byrne Rd into the East Point Business Park where we are tucked away just inside on the left. Just look for the anchor at the gate. Alternatively the 14, 15, 27 a&b, 29a and 31 a&b Dublin City Buses stop at Annesley Bridge just minutes walk away from the centre. What to bring
For rowing, we suggest you wear comfortable clothing and bring a rain jacket. Some people wear fingerless gloves like cycling or weight lifting gloves so bring them along if you have them. For kayaking, sailing and splash and dash days, bring swimming togs, a towel and shampoo for a hot shower afterwards. Wetsuits, buoyancy aids and helmets are provided but you'll need a pair of old shoes you can wear into the water. Eastwall Watersports Group is a not for profit facility committed to introducing watersports to all. We are generously supported by Dublin City Council and Dublin Port. Thank you! Our Facebook groups
