Today SMA Ireland had a briefing at Leinster House calling for urgent action for equal access to SMA Treatments for all. 20 adults in Ireland are being denied life-saving treatments for Spinal Muscular Atrophy (SMA) simply because of their age. They deserve the same opportunities & rights as those who were under 18 when the treatments were approved. Approximately 20 adults in Ireland are being denied these treatments, and ultimately their human rights, just because of their age at the time when the HSE Ireland approved the treatments. Thank you to everyone who took part today & has worked behind the scenes.
