On 02/04, the motion ‘This House, As God, Would Step In,’ was debated in GMB Chamber. There were brilliant speeches on both sides of the house, as well as props, laughs, and a floor speech, all leading the house to decide that the motion should pass.

We were privileged to be welcomed in this debate by Tim Coughlan of the Religious Society of Friends as well as Rev. Myozan Kodo Ian Kilroy.

TLDR: God would STEP in that

Email from Academic Registry- you have an exam every day until May. Message in your course groupchat: “any tball tickets goin x”. Upcoming society election that lowkey makes you feel like Marty Supreme. Librarian of the Phil in your dms asking for a debate caption. Perhaps, at this bleak juncture it will bring you comfort to remind yourself that all meat rots, that it cannot rain forever, and that every story has an ending.

The question is whether this story ends with a ha***ob or a slap in the face, a wedding or a funeral. For the final debate of the 341st Session of the University Philosophical Society, this House will debate (to completion) the plausibility of a happily ever after and what that ending might look, feel, sound and taste like. Join us at 7:30 in the GMB on Thursday for our final push through, and to see what the other side what might have in store.

On the 19th March the Phil debated if the left has failed the working class. Are they our best hope to improve working class conditions or if they have they completely lost sight of what they set out to do? After an excellent debate the house agreed that the left has failed the working class.
We only have a few more debates left this term so make sure you don’t miss them!
