Christine Buckley Centre for Education and Support Christine Buckley Centre for Education and Support offers help to survivors of intuitions

Since 1996, our mission has been to create a welcoming, respectful, and safe space where survivors of institutions feel supported and empowered. Here, they can embark on a healing journey to rebuild their lives and seek peace and justice. Our Centre provides education, personal development, and creative outlets in a community setting where no one feels isolated or different. Together, we stand for

justice, human rights, and the power of learning to enhance self-worth and open doors to a brighter future. With support from the Education and Training Board and dedicated professional qualified staff, we offer a wide range of groups, workshops, social activities and a supportive environment.

We had a lovely day today at the F2 Centre for our annual Remembrance Event. This year our focus is on re-engagment, reconnecting with one another, with the Centre, and with a shared sense of belonging. The ceremony of light was held to remember those we have lost.
Our Art group has created a beautiful project reflecting this theme, centred around the idea of a Circle of Connection and Belonging. 💛
We hope everyone has a lovely Easter break 🐰🐣

Today we remember Christine Buckley on the 12th anniversary of her passing.

Christine was a courageous advocate for survivors of institutional abuse and dedicated her life to ensuring their voices were heard. Her determination and strength helped bring national attention to the experiences of survivors and paved the way for greater recognition and support.

Her legacy continues through the work of the Christine Buckley Centre, where we remain committed to the values she stood for. Today we remember her and the lasting impact she has made.

January can bring pressure to reset, improve, and push forward — but it’s also a time when many people are simply trying to get through shorter days and heavier weeks.

“Wintering well” reminds us that slowing down, resting, and adjusting our expectations is not a failure, but a form of self-care. Just as nature moves at a different pace in winter, so can we.

Be kind to yourself — and to others — this January.
