Hellenic Community of Ireland This is the official page of The Hellenic Community of Ireland (HCI) which was established in 1964. Company Secretary is Mr James Hodson.

HCI is a non-profit association, represents Greeks and Cypriots in Ireland and runs the Greek school, Greek festival and a helpline. 'Hellenic Community of Ireland' is a not for profit organisation registered in Ireland as a Company Limited by Guarantee registration number 664680, and having its registered address at 19 Belvedere Place, Dublin 1. Company directors are: Konstantinos Drakakis, Styliani Xenopoulou, Theodoros Zioutos, Xenophon Chatzidimitriou', Michael Youlton.

Today, Ireland says goodbye to Glen Hansard.

From the streets of Ballymun, where his journey began, to Grafton Street, where his voice became part of Dublin’s heartbeat, the city and nation will pause to remember one of its greatest musicians.

This afternoon, family and friends will gather at St Patrick’s Cathedral to celebrate the life of a man whose songs touched people all over the world. Ballymun will say goodbye. Grafton Street will say goodbye. Dublin will say goodbye.

Glen now joins the great musical voices of the country like Luke Kelly, Ronnie Drew and Shane MacGowan, whose funeral Glen himself sang at only a few years ago. Life moves in ways none of us can understand, and moments like this remind us just how precious time really is.

It’s a crazy world, and none of us knows what tomorrow will bring. Hold your loved ones close, chase your dreams and live while you can.

Rest easy, Glen. Your songs will echo through Dublin forever.
