Environmental challenges are experienced differently across communities, but their impact is often deeply connected to everyday life. 🌱

From food security to access to water, climate pressures affect livelihoods, health, education and long-term stability.

Responding requires more than short-term solutions. It means supporting community-led approaches, local knowledge and long-term resilience.
This , we recognise the communities working every day to adapt, rebuild and thrive again after impacts of climate change. 👏

We proudly support a number of environmentalism focused projects, and many others that support livelihoods in areas affected by our changing climate.

Saturday was International Day to End Obstetric Fistula. Why was that important?

Many maternal health conditions receive little global attention despite affecting thousands of women every year. Unfortunately obstetric fistula is one of them.

While largely eliminated in countries with strong healthcare systems, many women across the world still lack access to the emergency maternal care needed during childbirth.

This May, as conversations around safe birth and maternal healthcare continue globally, Misean Cara is supporting awareness around the realities of obstetric fistula and the importance of prevention, dignity and access to care. The SafeBirth4All annual conference on Wednesday 27th May can be attended in person or online. Misean Cara is proud to support the agenda, and will be tuning in to hear guest speaker:
Sylvia Ngozi Ndubuaku, MMM, West African Area Leader.

Please join us in the fight to end obstetric fistula for women across the globe.

Every woman deserves a safe birth. Yet every year, thousands of women and girls suffer from obstetric fistula - a devastating childbirth injury caused by prolonged or obstructed labour without access to timely medical care. For many, it means lifelong physical pain, trauma, stigma and isolation - but obstetric fistula is entirely preventable with access to quality maternal healthcare.

On 27 May, the SafeBirth4All Conference will bring together healthcare professionals, advocates, missionaries and global partners to raise awareness, share solutions and call for action to end obstetric fistula for good.

Through SB4A, Misean Cara has teamed up with Medical Missionaries of Mary and AMRI to support the treatment and prevention of OF by helping women access life-changing treatment, rehabilitation and support and restoring dignity, hope and community. Together, we can work towards a world where no woman suffers this preventable injury.

Some things are worth passing on to the next generation.

On the International Day of Families, we think about what we leave behind, not just for our own families, but for communities around the world who are building better futures with very little.

A gift in your will, to Misean Cara is one way to ensure that the work of reaching the most marginalised communities continues rooted in the same values that guide it today.

If this is something you are interested in, we’d love to talk to you and explore what your gift can do.

Last month in Nairobi, Kenya, we were honoured to gather for the Children with Disabilities Conference 2026 — a powerful opportunity to share learning, experiences, and practical approaches towards care, inclusion, and empowerment for children with disabilities. 🌍💙

A heartfelt thank you to all of our speakers, contributors, partners, practitioners, researchers, advocates, and attendees who made this conference such a meaningful and inspiring event. Your insights, collaboration, and commitment to advancing inclusion and the rights of children with disabilities are helping to create stronger, more supportive communities.

We are especially grateful to our programme partners, participating organisations, and supporters whose dedication continues to drive this important work forward.

Together, we continue building a future where every child is valued, included, empowered, and supported to realise their full potential.
