300km. 4 days. Dublin to Cork. One incredible challenge for Pieta. 💜👟

A huge thank you and best of luck to Chris Amour, who is running from Dublin to Shandon Tower in Cork over just four days, raising funds for Pieta’s su***de and self-harm prevention services.

Chris is taking on this challenge in memory of people in his life who have struggled.

You can follow Chris’s progress over the next few days on Instagram at .ellipsis

At Pieta, our services are free of charge and no referral is needed.

“We want to help remind people that no matter what life throws at you, you are strong enough to overcome it.”

As the Vhi Women’s Mini Marathon approaches, we got to hear from three incredible women taking part this year with team Pieta.

Jessica, Abbey, and Yasmin have been best friends for 14 years, and this year they’ll be taking on the mini marathon together to raise vital funds for Pieta. 💜

At Pieta, we provide a range of services nationally to people who are experiencing thoughts of su***de, those who engage in self-harm, and those bereaved by su***de. All of our services are provided free of charge, and no referral is needed.

👉 If you would like to take part in the VHI Women’s Mini Marathon in aid of Pieta, there’s still time to sign up! Register here: https://www.idonate.ie/forms/c/pietavhiwmm26

This National Volunteering Week, we’re saying thank you to the people who showed up before sunrise, before the crowds, and long before the morning itself. 🌟

Just over a week ago, communities across Ireland came together for Pieta’s Darkness Into Light.

But that morning didn’t just happen. 🌅

It happened because volunteers spent months planning routes, organising community days, putting up posters, setting up in the early hours, answering questions, offering a helping hand, and making sure people felt welcome.

It happened because people gave their time, their energy and their care.

And because of that, thousands of people were able to share a walk, stand together, and be reminded that no one has to face things alone.

To every Darkness Into Light volunteer: thank you.

From our therapy team to our fundraising team, and everyone across Pieta, we see the work you put in. We know how much heart goes into it. And we’re so grateful.

You made the morning possible. 💛

Thank you.

“I first came in 2014 and I was terrified for my first one, because I was afraid it would be just very sad. Whereas the energy that was here, it was just the most amazing experience. It was so uplifting. The support that’s around for everybody was just fantastic, and we come back every single year now.”
- Louise, Pieta’s Darkness Into Light participant

This is what it became. 💫

With conversations.
With plans.
With people quietly getting ready.
And then, with more than 80,000 people sharing a walk into the sunrise.

Watch some of the moments captured at Pieta’s Darkness Into Light 2026 in Phoenix Park, where thousands of people came together in hope, remembrance and support. 🌅

To everyone who registered, walked, volunteered, fundraised, donated, shared their story, or took part in your own way: thank you.

Your support helps Pieta continue to provide free su***de prevention, self-harm and bereavement support services across Ireland.

We’re so grateful for the kindness and community shown again this year. We look forward to welcoming you back next year - and until then, there are still many ways to support Pieta’s work throughout the year.
