Another game part of our Citizen Engagement Library is called 'Grandma is Coming!'. What's that about and how can it help increase social connection in food sharing? πŸ”

The game invites children to work together to gather ingredients from a neighbourhood food forest and complete Grandma’s favourite healthy recipe before she reaches the end of the path.

Along the way, players learn about food forests, food sharing, composting, healthy eating, and the idea that food does not only come from the supermarket. 🌱

πŸ“ Some urban areas on our map hold hundreds of food sharing initiatives, while others are still empty.

This gap is not always an absence of food sharing: often it is an absence of visibility.

πŸ—ΊοΈ The CULTIVATE Food Sharing Map has identified over 8,000 initiatives across more than 200 urban areas: community gardens, shared meals, surplus redistribution, from Barcelona, Utrecht and Milan to smaller cities like Cork.

Watch our short video to see how the Map works, and explore the tool at: https://www.sharingsolutions.eu/food-sharing-map/

We are coming to Brussels for our final event!

On 19 November 2026 we will present and celebrate the Food Sharing Compass, our online platform that gathers five complementary tools to help communities, municipalities, researchers and citizens navigate the world of food sharing.

There will be a full day of panel discussions and hands-on workshops led by the people who built and tested the tools, so you can explore how they work in your own context.
