⏰ New deadline extension to register for our final event presenting the Food Sharing Compass! You now have until 23 October.

On 19 November in Brussels we will introduce the platform that brings together the five tools we built for municipal officers, food sharing initiatives, food supply actors, researchers and citizens.

The day pairs two panel discussions, on urban food system sustainability and on just resilience and the right to food, with hands-on workshops led by the people who developed and tested the tools.

ℹ️ Panels can be followed online, workshops are on site only, and in-person places are confirmed by the organisers by 30 October.

CULTIVATE has just published its second batch of six EIP-AGRI Practice Abstracts! Each one turns a project result into a short, jargon-free summary that practitioners can quickly act on.

This time the focus is on the tools and methods developed to support food sharing at every stage: from getting communities involved and finding the right resources, to weighing costs and benefits, learning from peers, navigating governance and estimating impact at city scale.

How can cities make the most of what food sharing can achieve? 🌱

You can find out through Let's Eat, a free print-and-play card game about discovering edible wild plants, sharing food memories and creating recipes with your neighbours.

The game includes 43 wild edible plant cards, food memory cards and shared cabinet cards.

Another game part of our Citizen Engagement Library is called 'Grandma is Coming!'. What's that about and how can it help increase social connection in food sharing? 🔍

The game invites children to work together to gather ingredients from a neighbourhood food forest and complete Grandma’s favourite healthy recipe before she reaches the end of the path.

Along the way, players learn about food forests, food sharing, composting, healthy eating, and the idea that food does not only come from the supermarket. 🌱
