This week, we published the Surveyors’ Guide to Building Investment Fund Reports as well as the Client Guide.

Building Investment Fund Reports are crucial tools for understanding the health of assets in multi-unit developments and the financial requirements of Sinking Funds. This guide will serve as a new professional standard for our members who wish to conduct such reports. It introduces new classifications and descriptions to help standardise findings from different Building Investment Fund Reports.

All property owners within the Owner Management Company (OMC) should receive a copy of the Building Investment Fund Report. This report informs owners of the annual financial contribution required to fund the OMC and ensures that sufficient funds are available to replace major assets at the appropriate time.

With Ireland's continued focus on apartment living, collaborations across the surveying discipline are fundamental to ensure unit owners have a clear understanding of the costs required to live in these units.
