🥋🏆 A fantastic day for JKS Tallaght at the USKFI Shotokan Cup! 🏆🥋

Plenty to celebrate today, with our members bringing home seven medals and gaining valuable competition experience! 👏

🥉 Philip Kennedy — Bronze in Veterans Kata and Kumite — even coming out of retirement for kumite! 💪
🥉 Diya George — Bronze in Under-10 Kata and Kumite
🥉 Xheims Qepi — Bronze in 16–17 Years Kumite
🥉 Lace Qepi — Bronze in Boys’ 10–12 Years Kumite
🥈 Seamus O’Callaghan — Silver in 13–15 Years Kata

Although Dave O’Reilly and Eamon O’Callaghan missed out on medals today, both gained valuable mat time and competition experience. Every time you step onto the mat, there is something to learn and build on. 👏

A very proud Sensei today! Well done to everyone who represented JKS Tallaght, and thank you to our families and supporters for cheering us on. ❤️🖤

Train hard, stay humble, never quit, always learning.

🥋 A huge thank you to JKS Ireland for the opportunity to train with Makita Sensei today!

An excellent seminar covering kihon, stance work and drills for Bassai Dai and Kakyoku Sandan. Plenty to take away and bring back to our training and dojo!

Access to Japanese instructors of this calibre is a special benefit of being part of the JKS Ireland and JKS Worldwide. We are proud that our JKS Tallaght members have these opportunities to learn directly from some of the best in the world. 🇮🇪🇯🇵

👏 A special congratulations to our own Eamon O’Callaghan, who was presented with his Nidan (2nd Dan) certificate today. A proud moment for Eamon and everyone at JKS Tallaght—a wonderful recognition of his hard work and dedication!

Thank you to Brian Sensei of Tyrrelstown karate club for hosting and JKS Scotland for helping make today possible. Congratulations to everyone who received their Dan certificates!

🥋 Small squad, big effort—a proud day for JKS Tallaght at the ONAKAI U14 National Championships! ❤️🖤

🌟 Diya and Sara both performed well in the Under-10 Beginners category. While they didn’t medal this time, they gained valuable competition experience and did themselves and the club proud!

💪 Dominykas delivered a sharp, strong Heian Nidan in the Under-12 Beginners category. He missed out on a medal, but gave a performance he can be proud of!

🥈 Ayesha brought home SILVER in the Under-14 Beginners category—just one flag away from gold! A fantastic achievement! 👏🎉

Every competition is an opportunity to learn, build confidence and grow. Well done to all four students, and thank you to their families for cheering them on! Hopefully we’ll see an even bigger club squad at future competitions. 🙌

A very happy and proud Sensei today! 😊🥋

🥋 A Huge Thank You 🥋

A massive thank you to the management of St. Mark’s Youth and Family Centre for the fantastic newly refurbished hall floor.

This evening, 35 karateka had the honour of christening the new floor with a brilliant training session! The new floor reminds me of training in Teikyo University in Japan during our international seminars, which makes it feel even more special.

We are incredibly appreciative of this wonderful improvement to our training space. Thank you for your continued support of JKS Tallaght Karate Club and our local community.

🦉 A very special thank you to Jake and Amelia for bringing this lovely owl back from their holiday.

Owls have held a very special place in my heart since my mam passed away, as she absolutely loved them. This was such a thoughtful and meaningful gift, and it means more to me than you could know.

Lago the owl will be added to the parliament.

Thank you both so much—I will treasure it. ❤️🦉
