🥋 A Huge Thank You 🥋

A massive thank you to the management of St. Mark’s Youth and Family Centre for the fantastic newly refurbished hall floor.

This evening, 35 karateka had the honour of christening the new floor with a brilliant training session! The new floor reminds me of training in Teikyo University in Japan during our international seminars, which makes it feel even more special.

We are incredibly appreciative of this wonderful improvement to our training space. Thank you for your continued support of JKS Tallaght Karate Club and our local community.

🦉 A very special thank you to Jake and Amelia for bringing this lovely owl back from their holiday.

Owls have held a very special place in my heart since my mam passed away, as she absolutely loved them. This was such a thoughtful and meaningful gift, and it means more to me than you could know.

Lago the owl will be added to the parliament.

🏆 Sensei Renny Perpetual Shield – Unsung Hero Award 🏆

We are extremely proud of Xheims Qepi, who was named the inaugural winner of the Sensei Renny Perpetual Shield – Unsung Hero Award in 2025.

Xheims is pictured accepting the perpetual shield on behalf of JKS Tallaght Karate Club. The shield will remain with the club and be presented to future recipients of this very special award.

It was presented by Sensei Renny’s mother, Theresa O’Malley, her brother Frank Reynolds, and her sister Anne Reynolds (not pictured).

Sensei Renny is deeply missed by everyone in our club and throughout the karate community. We will continue to work hard to honour her memory and ensure that her spirit, values and contribution to our club and karate are never forgotten.

Xheims’ dedication, kindness and willingness to help others truly represent the spirit of this award. A very deserving first recipient—well done, Xheims! 🥋👏

🥋🐯 Brilliant Saturday Training at JKS Tallaght! 🐯🥋

What a fantastic Tiny Tigers class today! It was brilliant to see our Tigers back on the dojo floor after the summer break, along with 6 new starters joining us for the first time! 👏🐯

A huge welcome to all our new Tigers — everyone did a brilliant job with lots of energy, smiles and great karate! ❤️🥋

We followed that with a fantastic Mixed Class, with our juniors and seniors putting in a great session and working hard from start to finish. 💪👊

🥋 A Great Start to August! 🥋

What a fantastic first class back after our summer break! It was brilliant to see so many familiar faces back on the dojo floor, along with several new members joining JKS Tallaght Karate Club.

A huge well done to everyone who trained tonight. Your energy, effort, and positive attitude made for a great start to the month. We'd also like to give a special welcome to all of our new members who took their very first class this evening—you all did an excellent job, and we look forward to seeing your progress.

Our next class is Friday from 7:00 pm to 8:00 pm. We hope to see everyone back for another great session.
