As Ireland leads the Council of the EU, this is an opportunity to put inclusive leadership at the heart of Europe's health agenda.

The Dublin Declaration calls for gender-balanced and diversity-inclusive leadership across health governance and funding structures at EU, national and local levels.

But representation must go beyond numbers. Women from underrepresented communities need meaningful opportunities to participate, influence policy and shape the decisions that affect their health and lives.

This is the first in a series of five messages from the Dublin Declaration that we will be highlighting throughout the Irish EU Presidency:

Irish Cancer Society is accepting applications for the Clinician Research Development Fellowship Award 2026 📣

There are two awards available. The maximum funding available is €100,000 for a duration of 18 - 48 months.

This award is for non-consultant hospital doctors (NCHD) training in any oncology-related discipline and is intended to help them develop cancer research experience in the Republic of Ireland. The purpose of this call is not focused on providing funding for one distinct research project but to facilitate career development and research capacity for the applicant to become an oncology leader.
