EPIC The Irish Emigration Museum is a state-of-the-art interactive experience located in the vaults of CHQ in Dublin's Docklands. Voted Europe's Leading Tourist Attraction 2019, 2020 & 2021 at World Travel Awards. It's located in the beautiful vaults of the 1820 Custom House Quarter building in Dublin’s Docklands, the original departure point for so many of Ireland’s emigrants. It will inspire and

guide you on a journey to discover the stories of Irish emigration around the world, from early times to the modern day. Over the centuries, some 10 million people have left the island of Ireland. At EPIC you can step through 20 themed galleries to find out why people left, see how they influenced the world they found, and experience the connection between their descendants and Ireland today. Immerse yourself in the stories of some of the most remarkable tales of sacrifice, endurance, adventure, and discovery the world has ever known. Common Ground is not just EPIC’s latest exhibition, it is a celebration of the connection between Ireland and the EU, particularly as Ireland has resumed the EU Presidency. Generations of Irish were travelling to mainland Europe for centuries before they ever joined the EU, but that joining has undoubtedly had a significant effect on that travel, and this exhibition dives into the very human stories that have come about in the last 50+ years.

EPIC has been crowned World’s Greatest, and Holly McGlynn, our Head of Communications, explains exactly what makes it so special. It is immersive, evocative, and above all, interactive, dedicated to telling the story of Irish emigration, but always with our own, unique spin.

The 28m² LED floor to showcase the many ways in which the Irish left these shores is just one example of this distinct style of storytelling.

We’re so delighted that World’s Greatest recognised the passionate team we have here, and whether you’ve been to EPIC before, or have been meaning to visit for a while, we can’t wait to welcome you in to see it for yourself.

Happy Bank Holiday weekend to all who celebrate. If you’ve been racking your brains on how to use your extra day off work, then take it as the opportunity to finally visit EPIC.

Like the rest of the country, we’re thrilled to hear that Derry-born Jonathan Anderson, Creative Director of Dior, is set to present their Fall 2027 Collection at Trinity College Dublin’s Old Library. It will be the first Dior runway show ever held in Ireland.
