EPIC The Irish Emigration Museum is a state-of-the-art interactive experience located in the vaults of CHQ in Dublin's Docklands. Voted Europe's Leading Tourist Attraction 2019, 2020 & 2021 at World Travel Awards. It's located in the beautiful vaults of the 1820 Custom House Quarter building in Dublin’s Docklands, the original departure point for so many of Ireland’s emigrants. It will inspire and guide you on a journey to discover the stories of Irish emigration around the world, from early times to the modern day. Over the centuries, some 10 million people have left the island of Ireland. At EPIC you can step through 20 themed galleries to find out why people left, see how they influenced the world they found, and experience the connection between their descendants and Ireland today. Immerse yourself in the stories of some of the most remarkable tales of sacrifice, endurance, adventure, and discovery the world has ever known. EPIC brings these amazing stories to life in a unique and spectacular way.

Irish fashion is making its mark across the globe.

With Ireland Fashion Week kicking off today, we’re taking a closer look at three designers whose work has brought Irish talent to some of the biggest names and spaces in international fashion.

Meet Seán McGirr, Creative Director at Alexander McQueen; Ruby Slevin, founder of Banshee of Savile Row; and award-winning designer Richard Malone, each building a global reputation while keeping their Irish roots firmly in the picture.

Spooky season is upon us here at EPIC! 🎃

Our hugely popular Halloween tours are back this October: the Beware of Dracula! Family Tour and the Origins of Halloween Adult Tour. This year, our Origins tour also has a Dublin By Dusk slot, where you can learn all about Samhain after hours in the museum.

Author Nicola Pierce joins us for our Éire to Everywhere book series, while our temporary exhibition exploring Ireland and the EU continues throughout the month.

A Bigger Life by Louise O’Neill hits bookshelves tomorrow, 24th September, and if you want even deeper insights into the memoir, you must come along to our interview with her on the 30th November at 7pm. Our next Éire to Everywhere event takes place on Thursday, 24th September, and includes a fascinating discussion about the Irish diaspora and their connections to France’s capital city with author of Irish Paris, Isadore Ryan.

The talk will be followed by an audience Q&A as well as a book signing. Plus, guests will have the opportunity to explore the museum following the talk due to Dublin By Dusk - sounds like the perfect post-work evening out.

Seán Tallon was a 26-year-old FDNY firefighter and the son of Irish immigrants from Co. Kildare.

On 11 September 2001, he was among the firefighters who tragically lost their lives while responding to the attacks of 9/11.

For generations, Irish emigrants have served the city through its fire service.

Twenty-five years on, we remember Seán, the 343 FDNY firefighters, and all those who lost their lives that day.
