Chronic Pain Ireland Chronic Pain Ireland supports people living with chronic pain through education, advocacy, and community programmes. RCN No: 20028022
(1)

Proud winner of the Carmichael Good Governance Award for 2 years running, recognising excellence in governance. To create a greater awareness of Chronic Pain and to provide relevant information and support for those living with the condition, for their families and friends. Established in 1992, Chronic Pain Ireland CLG. is the only national organisation providing information and support services t

o people living with Chronic Pain. We are a registered charity, and we work with all stakeholders including those living with chronic pain, their families and carers, health professionals, students, researchers and others interested in chronic pain. CPI has demonstrated professional leadership in Ireland and throughout Europe by raising awareness of chronic pain, educating in methods of dealing with the condition, and advocating for the needs of people living in chronic pain. We advocate for multi-disciplinary treatment centres, improved health services and changes to the educational curriculum so that healthcare providers are more aware of the condition and the challenges of diagnosing, treating and managing the condition. We adhere to the principles of good corporate governance. We are transparent and compliant with all regulatory requirements. The Scheme to Support National Organisations is funded by the Government of Ireland through the Department of Rural and Community Development

CPI gratefully acknowledges SSNO funding and the ongoing support of Pobal and the Department of Rural and Community Development under the Programme and Scheme to Support National Organisations (SSNO) 2022-2025

Living with chronic pain can affect much more than the body - it can also influence memory, concentration, attention and learning. Equally, the way we think and process information can have a significant impact on our experience of pain.

Join Professor David P. Finn, one of Ireland's leading researchers in pain neuroscience, as he explores the two-way relationship between pain and cognition, drawing on groundbreaking research from his team at the University of Galway. Learn about the biological mechanisms behind these interactions and how this growing understanding could help shape future treatments for chronic pain and the cognitive difficulties that often accompany it.

Don't miss this opportunity to hear from one of Ireland's foremost experts in pain research and ask your questions during the live Q&A.

Living with chronic pain can shape your experience in ways that are not always visible to others. You may have felt dismissed, not fully understood, or questioned - and over time, these experiences can have an impact.

By sharing your experience, you can contribute to a deeper understanding of chronic pain and stigma.

The findings will contribute to the greater understanding of stigma and coping in chronic pain and may help inform future community-based psychological support initiatives. Through ASpida, this work aims to support a community where people living with chronic pain feel seen, understood, and where stigma can gradually fade.
