The warmest of welcomes to our new CEO, Catherine Twomey!

Today, staff presented Catherine with gifts and flowers to celebrate her new role and welcome her to the team. Catherine joined us just before the summer but in typical DALC style we took months to mark the occasion!

Catherine’s warmth, energy and enthusiasm have already made a wonderful impression. We’re delighted with her leadership and the positive changes she’s introducing, and we look forward to all we’ll achieve together.

Congratulations to our recent graduates of the QQI Level 5 Special Needs Assisting course!

We’re so proud of their hard work, dedication and achievements & the valuable work they’re doing in our community.

A heartfelt thank you to Marie Sherlock, TD, for presenting the certificates, and to Meliosa Bracken from City of Dublin ETB, Parnell Campus, for joining us to celebrate.

We also want to recognise our incredible tutors, Louisa and Roisin, for the care, expertise and encouragement they bring to the programme. A warm welcome to Daisy, who has now joined the SNA tutor team!

Huge thanks to Cait and Sonia from HSE Ireland, who joined us in DALC this morning to deliver a Lung Cancer Prevention workshop for our students.

A great opportunity to learn more about lung health, prevention and the simple steps we can take to look after ourselves.

What a fantastic Culture Night so far!

A huge thank you to everyone who has dropped into Dublin Adult Learning Centre this evening. We’re delighted to see so many people coming through our doors, exploring the building and learning more about its fascinating history.

And we’re not finished yet! We’re open until 7.30pm, so there’s still plenty of time to pop in and join us for “Where History Met in Secret.”

Culture Night at DALC – This Friday!

We’re opening the doors of Dublin Adult Learning Centre this Friday for Culture Night and we’d love to welcome you in!

Dublin Adult Learning Centre, 3 Mountjoy Square has a fascinating history and has played its own part in the story of Dublin and Ireland. Come inside, explore the building and discover some of the people, meetings and moments connected to this historic house.

Our Culture Night event, “Where History Met in Secret”, will bring some of these stories to life.

Where History Met in Secret – Culture Night at DALC

This Culture Night, Dublin Adult Learning Centre invites you to discover the remarkable history hidden within our building.

Where History Met in Secret explores its connections to the revolutionary figures who helped shape modern Ireland and establish the Irish Republic. Before their names became part of Irish history, some of the key figures of the revolutionary period met here in secret.

Come inside, explore the building and discover the stories of the people, meetings and events that connect this North Inner City building to a defining period in Irish history.

Free admission. Everyone welcome.

Welcome back to Dublin Adult Learning Centre!

We’re delighted to be back and looking forward to a busy new term, welcoming both returning students and lots of new faces to the Centre.

If you’ve been thinking about returning to education, learning a new skill or simply trying something different, why not drop in and have a chat with us?

We have a range of FREE courses and classes starting this term, with options to suit different interests and experience levels.

At DALC you’ll find:
• Small, friendly classes
• Supportive tutors
• A relaxed learning environment
• Courses that are completely free of charge
• A Centre that’s easy to reach by public transport

There’s no pressure and no need to know exactly what course you want to do. Just drop into the Centre, meet us and find out what might suit you.
