Maintenance Handyperson – Care & Repair
Age Action’s Care and Repair does small DIY jobs for older people to help them maintain their homes and their independence.
📍 Location: Dublin
⏰ Hours of Work: 35 hours per week
📄 Contract Type: Permanent, subject to successful probation and ongoing funding
💶 Salary: €33,532
Main duties and responsibilities include:
• Assess and carry out DIY in people’s homes in line with good health and safety practices
• Work with health staff to ensure that mobility aids are installed appropriately and safely
• Maintain relevant equipment and materials
• Complete relevant administrative work and record jobs completed
• Drive Age Action vans to and from required locations
• Communicate with Age Action staff, clients and other stakeholders by phone and email
Skills, Abilities and Attributes:
• Experience in maintenance, building or DIY, gardening and customer service
• A good level of skill and ability in general household repairs & maintenance, furniture moving and basic garden tidy-up work
• A full clean driver’s licence is essential
• A strong interest in helping older people in our community
• Eligibility to work in Ireland
Garda Vetting is a requirement for this role.
