In Ireland, we love the great outdoors! Our beautiful island is famed for its clean, green and unspoilt landscape around the world. 💚

You may have noticed that we always use in our posts, but how much do you know about the initiative?

Leave No Trace Ireland ensures that our country stays beautiful by offering a range of educational opportunities through workshops, certified training courses, events and schools programmes all based upon the 7 Principles. The Principles have been adapted so that they can be applied anywhere, from remote areas, to local parks and even in your own neighbourhood. They also apply to almost every recreational activity.

Swipe ➡️ for a short education on how litter alters natural environments and a bit of the science behind how it alters our perception.

👏 Thanks to everyone who took part in today’s Monster Clean Up with multiple local clean up and environmental groups: Castleknock Tidy Towns together with Blanchardstown Tidy Towns, Laurel Lodge Environmental Group, Royal Canal Clean-up and Treasure the Tolka covered from Blanchardstown along the Tolka down to Navan Road and surrounding area.

Together, they picked up a lot of litter and waste. They're keeping their environment clean, caring for their shared spaces and protecting the natural environment for wildlife and future generations. 🌱

It could be a wrapper, a bottle, maybe a coffee cup. 🚮

If each of us picked up just one piece of litter during our day, the collective impact would be enormous. A cleaner street, a healthier environment or an act with a ripple effect as others take note. If every person did this, we'd remove millions of items from our environment in a single day! 🌿

Let's start today. 💚
