It’s been a while…but we have had a busy and enjoyable summer. 3 annual camps and 1 world Scout Jamboree to name a few things we’ve been up to. I will post photos and updates of our activities throughout this busy year.

On this day 8 years ago, leaders and friends of the group embarked on the 4 peaks challenge. They climbed the 4 highest peaks in Ireland over a weekend. It was in aid of the Flame of Hope charity in India in which the group has supported over the years.

Well done to our 3 patrols who represented us on the Frank Tisdall Challenge last weekend. They all achieved gold standard and have earned the troop a place on the Phoenix Challenge in August.

A great performance on the weekend and throughout the year. Well done to all.

Last night our group had the honour of hosting members of the World Scout Foundation and HRH Crown Prince Guillaume of Luxembourg! Our Scouts, Ventures and Leaders cooked a 2 course meal for 30+ people as well as providing entertainment, and tidying up afterwards.

In true 35th style, we finished up the evening with a campfire and sing song. Our guests were also presented with a group neckerchief each. It was an enormous success and great to show off our culinary skills as well as our warm hospitality.

Well done to all who made the evening such a success. One to remember.

Great turnout today for our annual St. Patrick’s day mass in Donore Avenue. Shamrock was blessed and distributed to the scouts and parishioners afterwards.

There were two presentations made to our outgoing group leader Jason, and to our assistant Beaver leader Brian.

Jason was presented with a lovely hand made art piece made by Martin Raeside. It marked Jason’s successful 3 year term as group leader of the 35th.

Brian was awarded the silver medal of honour for his commitment and dedication while scouting under difficulties.

Thanks to all who attended, and have a lovey St. Patrick’s day ☘️

Scouts had a range of hands on practical bases for the past two weeks. They made copper bracelets, repaired benches, made clay woggles and had a go at 3d printing.

The Beavers out on the hills on Sunday. They hiked from Kilmashogue to Ticknock Forrest. Great day had by all.
