A look back at the 2026 edition! Warm thanks to all the artists, speakers, facilitators, partners, and volunteers who helped make this festival such a vibrant and memorable celebration of comic book culture.
We’re already looking forward to the next edition!

The festival was organised by Alliance Française de Dublin and IGI (Illustrators Guild of Ireland), in partnership with Dublin Comic Arts , Little Deer Comics, National College of Art & Design, Dublin, Irish National Opera, International Books and Ambassade de France en Irlande.

And that’s a wrap! Many thanks to everyone who joined us today for the final day of the Comic Book Festival.
Today was all about creativity, participation, and sharing with the public. The programme featured a full-day masterclass, comics-making workshops for both children and adults, a mini comics fair with Dublin Comic Arts, and a guidance talk for aspiring artists looking to break into the world of comics and illustration.
It was wonderful to see so many people of all ages drawing, creating, exchanging ideas, and discovering new talents throughout the day.
A huge thank you to today's facilitators Eoin Coveney, Kate Escolin, Philip Barrett, Debbie Jenkinson, Paddy Lynch, Matt Melis and Margaret Anne Suggs.

Today’s programme is more hands-on, with creative activities for all ages, a Comic Book Fair, and a guidance talk for aspiring artists – come join the fun!

It’s always about building bridges! Tonight, fans of Comics, Opera, and History came together around a shared fascination with the Gauls and a love of storytelling.

Many thanks to all our guests: Irish National Opera's Executive Director Diego Fasciati, set & costume designer Madeleine Boyd, comics scholar Fabien Tillon, historian Dr Rebecca Usherwood (Trinity College Dublin), and a special mention to Deirdre Higgins & Heather Sammon, who performed excerpts from Bellini’s "Norma" for an awestruck audience ahead of its opening this Sunday at The Gaiety Theatre.

We welcome you tomorrow at Alliance Française de Dublin between 11am and 5pm for the last day of the Festival with hands-on worskhops for all ages and a special Comic Book Fair!

Tonight at 6pm at Alliance Française de Dublin, we're proud to present "Vive la Résistance!": A unique, genre-defying illustrated talk & performance exploring how the Gauls – from comics to opera – continue to inspire humour, resistance, and storytelling.

Join comics scholar Fabien Tillon, historian Dr Rebecca Usherwood (Trinity College Dublin), "Norma" opera's Set & Costume Designer Madeleine Boyd, for a lively discussion moderated by Irish National Opera Executive Director Diego Fasciati, followed by a performance by opera singers Deirdre Higgins & Heather Sammon!
