Dubes Trinity Founded in 1929 DUBES is now in its 93rd Session We organise speakers throughout, hold joint projects with other societies and run trips away each year.

Business and Economics Society (DUBES) - aims to broaden the horizons of its members both academically and socially, especially with regard to business and economic matters. Previous destinations have included Barcelona, Rome and Berlin. Each year we organise the BESS Ball, as well as many other events. DUBES aims to provide all those involved with opportunities to meet similar minded people, form friendships and connections, and have lots of fun.

We’re very excited to invite Ben Broadbent as part of the DUBES speaker series next week.

Ben is a former Deputy Governor of the Bank of England, working under Mark Carney during the Brexit and Covid Crisis. He is now Head of European Macro Strategy at Balyasny Asset Management.

This will take place next Monday, the 9th of March, in the Bank of Ireland room in TBS at 5pm.

We’re delighted to welcome Seán O’Neill McPartlin to DUBES this semester. After having to postpone last term, Seán is finally joining us for what promises to be an insightful conversation on Ireland’s housing crisis and the policy solutions needed to address it.

Seán is the Director of Housing Policy at Progress Ireland and co-founder of the Better Planning Alliance. His work has been published in the Irish Times, Telegraph, and British Medical Journal, and he holds an MSc in Economic Policy from Trinity along with degrees in philosophy from Trinity and Oxford. A recipient of the George Moore, Foundation, and Laidlaw scholarships, Seán is one of Ireland’s leading voices on housing policy and urban development.

DUBES and Snow sports are here to match you with your perfect partner on the 5th of February.

Tickets and matchmaking forms will be available on Monday the 19th of January. Fill out the matchmaking form attached to help our cupids find your ideal date. Once you have signed up, keep an eye on your inbox in the coming weeks for your chosen destination.

On the night you will meet your (hopefully perfect) match at one of our pubs around town. Then, if you wish to leave… with or without your date… you can come meet your fellow love birds in Hyde rooftop for afters 🕺🏻💃🏼
