We do this through a number of programmes namely our...
* Building Programme
* Scholarship Programme.
* Safe Motherhood Programme.
* Volunteer Programme, and
* our School Twinning Programme
Building Programme:
to improve the facilities in our partner primary school. At present, this is Kawuula Primary School where to date, we have build a classroom for P5 and we have started construction of teach
er accommodation. For details of what we built in our previous partner school, Madudu C.U. Primary, check out our website www.lamhasuas.ie
Scholarship Programme:
to enable female students in St. Andrews Kaggwa Secondary School to complete their secondary education and attend teacher training college or university. Safe Motherhood Programme:
run in partnership with the Rural Health Care Foundation Uganda to educate pregnant women on safe birthing practices, provide them with community support through our Mama Ambassadors and to provide them with Mama Kits and mosquito nets so they can have their babies safely in the local maternity clinic. Volunteer Programme:
we bring 6 volunteers to Madudu each July for a period of 5 weeks to live and work in the local community. As well as their work placement, volunteers get the opportunity to meet other NGOs and to hear about their work, to visit those working on or benefiting from our programmes, to visit places of cultural and historical interest, to spend time with people living and working locally and further afield...giving volunteers a well rounded view of life in Uganda. School Twinning Programme:
The senior pupils of St. Brigid's BNS, Killester, Dublin, write to their peers in Kawuula Primary School every month on a variety of topics. They learn not only about the differences in their lives but more importantly, the similarities. Full details of all of our programmes can be found on the Programmes Page of our website www.lamhasuas.ie
