Throwback Thursday🎊

Over the last 50 years Treoir's information service has evolved, from written sources, to our phoneline, website, and social media.

In a world were it can sometimes feel like information overload, we want to ensure that our clients still have access to accurate information on the family law system in Ireland. Information that we aim to make easy to understand.

Our information service which operates primarily through our phoneline is available 10am-4pm Monday to Friday.

This morning the ERSI report shows that Ireland has seen a rise in child poverty despite an increase in average incomes.

It is clear that the Government must prioitise tackling child poverty in Budget 2027.

Treoir is calling for:

- To increase the income disregard for Jobseeker's Transitional payment and One Parent Family Payment, and index link it to any changes to the minmum wage.

- Ensure core social welfare payments keep pace with the cost of living.

- Increase fuel allowance

- Guardian's payment should be more accessible to Kinship Carer's or an alternative payment should be made available to them

- Provide targeted supports for young parents
