Global Action Plan Ireland

Global Action Plan Ireland Making Space for Change. GAP Ireland is an environmental charity.

We break big problems down, helping people to develop local responses and solutions, looking for practical ways to build sustainable communities everywhere. We work actively with communities, schools and business, assisting people to develop the required knowledge and skills, and encouraging them to design solutions to the environmental and climate crises.

How do we build the resilience we need for a changing world?

GAP is proud to partner with Project Mobilise on a new nine-month Facilitator Training in Active Hope / the Work That Reconnects.

The programme brings together facilitators, community leaders, activists and changemakers to develop practical skills for building resilience and supporting collective action in the face of social and ecological challenges.

What happens when you start with a story?
What if, instead of telling people what climate action should look like, you start by asking:

What does this place mean to you?
What do you care about?
And what kind of future do you want to see?

These questions were at the heart of Ballymun Is Brilliant; a creative project that explored climate action, climate justice and community through storytelling, art and connection to place.

Storytelling became a way to meet people where they were at. It helped uncover the knowledge, creativity and environmental action that already existed in the community, and created space for people to see themselves as part of the story of climate action.
