Girls living with disabilities in Nepal often have all the odds stacked against them. Girls like Rabina have never been able to attend school.

However, with your support, you have empowered VSO volunteers to enrol Rabina into school for the first time ever. 💜

Rabina was provided with a wheelchair, bridge classes to help her catch up on what she had missed, school supplies, and a mentor.

Now she’s in mainstream school and building an independent future for herself!

Thank you to President Michael D. Higgins and Sabina Higgins for hosting a Garden Party at Áras an Uachtaråin celebrating Global Solidarity and the UN Sustainable Development Goals.

Siobhan Cahalan (board member), Geoff Skingsley (chairman), Aidan Barry (board member) and Victoria Wall (Public Fundraising Lead) were delighted to be invited and join the President and his wife Sabina in celebrating the roles of people working to make society a better place.

VSO Ireland works to create lasting change by working through volunteers and partners to empower people living in the some of the world’s poorest regions - supporting people to have the opportunity to lean into life to be who they want to be.
