There’s a change of location for Prof David Gleeson’s talk.

Please note the change in venue for Dr. Gleeson's talk on July 1. Because of a problem with HVAC we have moved next door to the Beatty Center.

Many of you will remember Dr. Gleeson, the world’s foremost expert on the Irish in the American South, from his years teaching history here at the College of Charleston. With the help of the Consulate General of Ireland, Atlanta, CofC’s Irish and Irish American Studies has lured him back—at least for one night. Dr. Gleeson will give an informal talk on the oft-neglected Scotch Irish contribution to early American history.

A wine & beer & softdrink reception will precede Dr. Gleeson's talk in the atrium outside the Wells Fargo Auditorium. This event is free and open to the public.

🇮🇪 A taste of Ireland in the Lowcountry 🇮🇪
With St. Patrick’s Day coming up, it’s nice to see a bit of traditional Irish baking here locally.

Shauna, originally from Ireland and now living in Summerville, recently started a small home baking page called Grá Baking, where she makes traditional Irish baked goods in small batches.

Things like Irish soda bread, brown bread, fresh scones, and other classic bakes — all available locally for pickup in Summerville.
