The annual Red Line Festival runs in October and takes place in Dublin at various venues across South Dublin County. The festival is funded by South Dublin County Council and managed by South Dublin Libraries and Arts. The Red Line Festival is a celebration of all things literary; be it spoken, written, sung, played, illustrated or even just thought! We provide a programme of events and workshops that appeal to people of all ages and interests, from children to adults and casual readers to book worms. Saturday ended with the amazingly talented poet, playwright and spoken word performer Emmet Kirwan, and what a way to close a fantastic day at the Red Line Book Festival. 🎭✨

A proud Tallaght native, Emmet had the audience completely captivated from the moment he stepped onto the stage. Through powerful poetry, storytelling and readings from his book Accents, he took the audience on an emotional journey filled with laughter, reflection and heartfelt moments. His words painted vivid pictures of life, place and identity, leaving a lasting impression on everyone in the room.

Erik, the Viking mouse is making a special appearance at TOMORROW’S Red Line Book Festival Family Fun Day at Tallaght Library and Parthalán Place. Pop in and take a photo with him!

Erik is a one-of-a-kind, handmade creation by the talented Electra from Ballyroan Library! He was made using the brand-new Chompsaw machine🎨✨

Erik is part of an excited, jam-packed day of family fun from 10am–4pm, including a REAL Viking longship, Vikings, K-Pop Demon Hunters, comic characters, lightsaber duelling, a green screen photobooth, draw-along and Alan Nolan workshop!

What a fantastic evening at Priory Market Priory Market! 📚✨

Justine Stafford and Fionnuala Jay had the audience laughing throughout as they explored The Irish Art of It’ll Be Grand. From the many meanings of “I’m grand” to the sayings, stories and characters behind our belief that, whatever happens, things have a way of working themselves out, it was a funny, insightful and thoroughly entertaining conversation.

We were also delighted to bring Red Line Book Festival to Priory Market for the very first time, making it an extra special evening.
