“Education is our great equaliser.”

Last week, we had the privilege of bringing our board and team to , Dublin, to visit some of the amazing awardees supported by Rethink Ireland.

We met some truly remarkable people, individuals deeply committed to giving back to their communities, who 'lead with love' and who are providing life-changing supports for the community in Tallaght 💛

A big thank you to the team at Citywise Education for hosting us. We were inspired seeing the impact of your work with young people, who say that they have grown in confidence, found new friends and all have big plans for the future ✨

Thank you also to the team at An Cosán for welcoming us into your centre and sharing your powerful stories of impact. Your belief that “education is the one-generation solution to poverty” stayed with us.

We were delighted to gather with our board, donors, staff and awardees for dinner at Citywise Education.

Áine Kerr, Chair of our board, closed the evening with reflections that stayed with many of us. She spoke about the power of education as the great equaliser, but also the responsibility we each carry for our young people. Drawing on Jigsaw’s work on the importance of One Good Adult, and leaving us with a challenging question, in the words of Professor Katriona O’Sullivan 👉 “What will you do with your privilege?”

We recently joined John and Colm from Living Woodlands when they revisited one of their biodiversity havens, where the trees are almost two metres tall after only two years!
