🎄✨ Holiday Closure Announcement ✨🎄

As we wrap up another incredible year, Crohn’s & Colitis Ireland will be closing for the Christmas holidays from COB Tuesday, December 23rd, 2025, and we’ll reopen on Monday, January 5th, 2026 at 9:30am.

✅ Please note: We will be working as normal up to when we close on the 23rd, but any orders received during this period may not be processed or delivered until the New Year.

What a year it has been! We want to give a HUGE thank you to everyone who has supported and followed us throughout 2025. To our members, volunteers, and supporters - your dedication and generosity make everything we do possible. Without you, so much of our work simply wouldn’t happen 💜

While our office will be closed, resources and information will remain available on our website for anyone seeking guidance during the festive season. If you need medical support over Christmas, we strongly advise contacting your IBD team, Emergency Department, GP, or doctors on call. If you feel unwell, please don’t delay - reach out to them promptly for help.

The holiday season can be a time to pause, recharge your batteries, and focus on self-care. We hope you find moments of rest and joy, and remember that it’s okay to take time for yourself.

We’re looking forward to returning in January refreshed and ready to make an even bigger impact in 2026.

From all of us at CCI, we wish you a joyful, peaceful, and healthy festive season. If we don’t speak to many of you before we finish up we will see you in the New Year! 🎉

We’re delighted to be featured in the Bladder & Bowel 2025 campaign launched today in the Irish Independent - an initiative that aligns perfectly with Crohn’s & Colitis Awareness Week 💜

The campaign shines a light on conditions that are often hidden, misunderstood, or stigmatized. For us at Crohn’s & Colitis Ireland (CCI), being included is hugely important because it gives us the opportunity to amplify the voices of people living with IBD and advocate for better understanding, support, and care.

This article, written by CCI’s Interim COO, Victoria Spillane, explores what it means to live with IBD and why breaking stigma and building strong support networks is essential. These conversations matter as they help normalise discussions about bowel health, encourage early diagnosis, and remind people that they are not alone.

We want to thank the campaign team at MediaPlanet UK & IE for including us and for helping to raise awareness during this important week. Together, we can create a future where living with IBD doesn’t mean living in silence.

✅ Join the conversation, follow Crohn’s & Colitis Ireland, and help us spread awareness.

Honoured to have Liam Quaide TD by our side as we continue to advocate for better services and IBD to be recognised for what it is - a chronic, lifelong illness. Thank you Liam!

🔥 IBD can’t wait, and neither will we!

Today, Crohn’s & Colitis Ireland brought the fight to the AV Room in Leinster House, making sure the voices of the IBD community were heard for all to hear. The ongoing challenges faced by the ever growing IBD community and our recommended solutions were said loud and clear, with our message of 'Enough is Enough', and to please work with us and not against us.

Massive thanks to Deputy Liam Quaide who provided us with this incredible opportunity, the TDs and Senators who engaged with us, and everyone who committed to keep pushing for change. Advocacy isn’t a one-off, it’s a movement. And we’re in it for the long haul 💪

Shout-out to our incredible CCI team, Sinéad from Sunflower Ireland, and our powerhouse panel: Victoria Spillane, Orlaith Kelly, Aideen Stack, Sarah O’Connor, Ciaran Davis, and Jonathan Healy.

Watch this space for exciting follow-ups, because every step forward matters🌟

💜 Fill Your Cup - A Vital Practice for IBD Warriors (and Those Who Support Them) 💜

Living with Crohn’s or Colitis (with or without a stoma) means we fight harder to get through life. But here’s the truth: you can’t pour from an empty cup!

Filling Your Cup is about keeping your physical, mental, and emotional reserves topped up. That might mean:
✔ Saying no more often
✔ Taking a break or stepping back
✔ Even changing careers

And if saying “no” means missing out? Think outside the box:
✨ Find new ways to make up for lost time
✨ Explore passions that fit your energy
✨ Create a career path you never imagined

💡 Spoon Theory vs Filling Your Cup: Spoon Theory helps you plan your energy for today. Filling Your Cup helps you recharge for tomorrow. Together, they’re powerful tools for living your best life.

👉 Learn more about Spoon Theory at www.crohnscolitis.ie

For supporters: You matter too. Fill your own cup so you can show up fully. Caring for yourself helps you care for them better.

✨ Your health is your wealth. Keep your cup topped up, and refill whenever you can - because when your cup is full, life’s possibilities open wide! 💜

🌟 Nearing the end of 2025 with an Incredible Day in Louth! 🌟

On Saturday November 8th, we hosted our first-ever Patient Day in Louth at the beautiful Marcy Hotel - and what a way to finish the year! 💜

As the final Patient Day of 2025, this event was a fantastic close-out to a year of learning, connection, and support. A heartfelt thank you to everyone who attended - whether you’re living with IBD or supporting someone on their journey. We hope you left with valuable insights and a renewed sense of community.

To our inspiring speakers, the dedicated CCI support team who could be there on the day, and the Marcy Hotel staff - this day would not have been possible without your hard work and commitment. A big thank you also to the Coloplast team who played a vital part in the day from their wonderful exhibition stand to insights provided as part of the panel discussion and Q&A sessions.

These events matter because they remind us that no one walks the IBD journey alone. Together, we share knowledge, hope, and strength.

We are delighted that this event was proudly sponsored by Celltrion Healthcare Ireland Ltd - thank you for your continued support in making these days possible.

Here’s to an even bigger and better 2026! 💪
