Basketball at the Ireland Summer Games 2026

Basketball was one of the largest sports at the 2026 Special Olympics Ireland Games, with 177 athletes competing throughout the tournament.

Basketball is a game of teamwork, communication and trust. Every pass, rebound and basket is built on players working together, supporting one another and giving their best until the final whistle. Throughout the Games, athletes demonstrated resilience, skill and outstanding sportsmanship on and off the court.

At Special Olympics Ireland, our athletes train, compete and thrive all year round, not just at Games time.

Your support makes that possible. Donate today and help us continue creating opportunities for athletes with intellectual disabilities.
