Tomorrow we are back to the day by day anniversary posts as we await the arrival of the French

Today, I share with you most of my Ulster Rebellion books. The principal ones that I’d recommend for anyone wishing to understand what occurred would be “Summer Soldiers” by A.T.Q. Stewart; “1798 Rebellion in County Down” edited by Mrytle Hill, Kenneth Dawson and Brian S. Turner and “Revolt in the North” by Charles Dickson. I’d also recommend the “Battle of Antrim” by Stephen McCracken if you wish to get a greater understanding of the Antrim battle. All of these books are easily found on online bookstores.

For some biographical material I’d recommend “May Tyrants Tremble - The Life of William Drennan” by the excellent Fergus Whelan as well as “Belfast Jacobin” by Kenneth Dawson
