Friendship Saves Lives Camino Walk for Orphaned Children
The Camino Walking Group will raise funding for Friendship Saves Lives Charity formed to support orphaned children of Bangladesh's s*x slaves. Children living in brothels over the age of five are given a chance of a future in Orphanages like Shapla Mohila Sangstha in Faridpur, where they can live without deprivation and drugs, given protec
tion, care and a real chance of education. The group who are led by Killian Reaney, are Colm Banks, James Reed, Mark O'Connor,& Arron Wyles. The Camino walk will commence on Sunday 8th October at Sarria and finish at Santiago de Compostela arriving on Friday 13th. Killian has made two trips to Bangladesh the first with his Sister Ornagh in 2020 to help the most needy in the community by contributing to and helping with the distribution of food and clothing along with their friends from Bangladesh. Biswajit Kumar Saha had a grand opening of his hospital in Faridpur Bangladesh in February 2023 and invited 27 clients and friends from Europe who are based in Ireland. During our time in Faridpur we also got to participate in several different charity events organized by Kumar including a visit to the atrocious conditions of the brothel village in Faridpur. After a deeply disturbing and upsetting visit to the brothel village we were overwhelmed with joy having visited the incredible and brave children of Shapla Mohila Sangstha Orphanage and seeing the wonderful work they are doing for them. On returning to Ireland and having formed an amazing friendship with everyone on the trip it was decided that we all wanted to help these unfortunate children and Friendship Saves Lives was created.
