(NF) is a rare, genetic condition involving the development of nonmalignant tumours that may affect the brain, spinal cord and nerves. As the most common type of NF, neurofibromatosis type 1 (NF1) affects about 1 in 3,000 people worldwide.

A huge thank you to Acorn Montessori & Crèche, Naas, Co. Kildare, for choosing NF Ireland as the beneficiary of their recent Pyjama Day Fundraiser.

Thanks to the generosity of the children, families and staff, an incredible €1,000 was raised to support people and families living with Neurofibromatosis across Ireland.

NF1 HealthSKETCH

Understanding Neurofibromatosis Type 1 (NF1) can be challenging, especially if you or someone you love has recently been diagnosed.

We've added a short HealthSKETCH animated video to the NF Ireland website that explains NF1 in a simple, clear, and easy-to-understand way. Whether you're living with NF1, supporting a family member, or simply want to learn more, this is a great place to start.

This video was developed with the Childhood Tumour Trust (CTT), with special thanks to Dr Carly Jim, Manchester Metropolitan University, and Vanessa Martin, CTT.
