Varghese Joy, National Convenor, recently engaged with two Irish media to address the rising frequency of racist incidents occurring within both workplaces and the wider community.Migrant Nurses Ireland expresses profound concern regarding the escalation of racism within workplaces and the community. In light of the issues raised, the organization formally demands the implementation of more rigorous standards by the relevant authorities.

Your Vote Matters – Support Varghese Joy and Thressia Devassy in INMO NEC Election 2026

Dear Members and Supporters,

We are reaching out to you with a heartfelt appeal.
Our National Chairperson, Varghese Joy, and Dublin North Branch Committee Member, Thressia Devassy, are contesting for the Management Seats in the upcoming Irish Nurses and Midwives Organisation (INMO) National Executive Council Election 2026.

This is a crucial opportunity to strengthen our collective voice at the highest decision-making level of the INMO. For the last two decades, Varghese and Thressia have proudly served Ireland’s healthcare system and for the past six years since the formation of Migrant Nurses Ireland, they have stood firmly beside migrant nurses across Ireland — supporting, guiding, and advocating for hundreds of colleagues during difficult times. We have also consistently spoken out on issues affecting all nurses, including safe staffing, fair working conditions, and professional respect.

Now, we need your support.
There are only three seats available in the Management Category, and each member can cast a maximum of three votes. Your vote can directly influence who represents you and who speaks on your behalf at national level.

Please remember:
This is a postal vote only.
Ballot papers and freepost return envelopes will be issued from the week commencing 23rd February 2026.
Please check your post and look out for your INMO magazine.
The ballot closes at 4:30pm on Friday, 20th March 2026.
We sincerely urge every eligible INMO member to exercise your vote and support Varghese Joy and Thressia Devassy.

Your participation is not just a vote — it is a statement about the kind of representation and leadership you want for our profession.
Together, let us strengthen our voice and our future.
With gratitude and hope,
Best regards
Team Migrants Nurses Ireland
