This Bank Holiday weekend the LUAS Red line will be disrupted due to major maintenance. The LUAS will only be operating from the point to Hueston station. From Hueston the LUAS will provide a bus service to stop at the hospital , Suir Road , Blackhorse, Kylemore Road then the Red cow where people will get of and then get transport from the Red cow to Tallaght and Saggart. That is one hell of an inconvenience but guess how frequent the bus from Hueston will be 1 every 15 mins yep according to this link 1 every 15 mins. Itโ€™s a disgrace particularly for our disabled community and m**s and Dads with young children and prams. I rang 0818 294015 to complain please will everyone ring and complain itโ€™s not good enough.

Passengers are advised that significant service changes will be in place on the Luas Red Line over the May Bank Holiday weekend, from Saturday 2 May to Bank Holiday Monday 4 May 2026, due to essential engineering works being carried out by Transport Infrastructure Ireland (TII). Over October and November, the 13 has been cancelled or partially cancelled over 1200 times. It is the 5th most cancelled Dublin bus route this year so far. On 1 day in October, it was cancelled over 21 times.

The 13 is vital for Clondalkin. Itโ€™s the only bus that serves areas like Bawnogue, and itโ€™s the primary means of transport to work, college, and school for many across Clondalkin.

As part of Busconnects changes planned for next year, the 13 will no longer serve Woodford. Following Watery lane, it will now go down the New Nagor road โ†’ Long mile road โ†’ Cork street. (No longer serving Inchicore and Jamesโ€™ Hospital.)

Traffic through the area is getting worse with the village frequently at a standstill during peak hours. Clondalkin is large, and growing area which needs a reliable bus service.

If we are going to get the service we deserve we need a campaign to put pressure on the NTA and the government.

If you are concerned about Public transport in Clondalkin join our public meeting upstairs in the Purty Central on Wednesday the 10th of December, at 7pm.

I'm sure the NTA won't want this happening again ..a crowd this size ..hopefully they'll be sitting up and saying they have just concern and issues and the buses are a mess like all other areas and NTA will sort buses out for this community..power to the people and the Chapelizod community .

We went into the NTA office in Smithfield demanded to speak to someone from the NTA a guy by the name of Jeremy Ryan came down to us and after some tooing and froing got him to agree to meet John Barry to discuss the connectivity with Thomas street. Aengus Oโ€™Snodaigh is the contact person and we want to meet up before Xmas.
Mr Ryan did confirm that the changes wonโ€™t come into effect by next spring it will be pushed back again.
So will keep everyone updated. If we donโ€™t get a positive response to meet up soon we will have to go back into the NTA again.
We were well represented today and the students union in the NCAD sent us an email expressing that they support the campaign and that students will be affected by any cut to connectivity to Thomas street.

The changes will be gradual, said a council planner. โ€œItโ€™s not an overnight, you know, deployment of four or five thousand units in an area.โ€
