News - Launch 🚀 New Resources

We’re delighted to launch new resources from the Notes & Signs project.

The Notes & Signs project, led by in collaboration with
explored how music education and live music experiences can become more accessible for
D/deaf and hard-of-hearing people.

Through workshops, performances, and collaboration with Deaf participants, musicians,
teachers, and ISL interpreters, the project identified practical ways to improve access to
music learning and performance.

We’re excited to share three new resources developed through the project:
1) Inclusive Music-Making in Deaf Education Settings – a guide for teachers and visiting
musicians
2) Supporting D/deaf Audiences, Musicians and Performers – a guide for venues and
musicians
3) ISL Glossary for the Music Classroom – a video resource introducing Irish Sign Language
signs used in music learning

These resources aim to support more inclusive music participation across education and
performance settings.

The project was supported by Rethink Ireland, with Tilting the Lens providing logistical and
facilitation support between 2023–2025.

Special thanks to Sarah Jane O’Regan (ISL Interpreter) who presents the signs in the glossary video.

This Christmas Eve, we’re delighted to share one of our favourite carols, Silent Night ✨
Sung by Lisa Mc Guinness with Aisling Ennis on harp and a beautiful signed performance by Ruth Montgomery, this piece means a lot to us.

It reflects what we love most about our work, bringing music and connection to communities, not just at Christmas but all year round.

Wishing all our friends a very Merry Christmas and Happy New Year 🎄🤍🎶
