The Little Flower Penny Dinners A warm and friendly place for those in need. A smile, a chat, a bite to eat in a safe and welcoming place.

The main object for which the Company is established is to assist and provide support to persons in need due to poverty and ill health especially elderly persons/senior citizens by creating an environment where the homeless and persons at risk of becoming homeless find their dignity respected in an atmosphere of caring, compassion, understanding and welcoming and to provide services and meals for the homeless and elderly

Little Flower Penny Dinners is hoping to be shortlisted for the AIB Community Fund and would really appreciate a vote from our community, supporters and donors.

On Sunday 31st May, one of our clients, Dolores White, took part in the Vhi Women’s Mini Marathon in aid of Little Flower Penny Dinners. Here she is pictured crossing the finish line on the day.

Dolores always brightens our day and we are so proud of her for this incredible achievement. We are extremely grateful that she chose to support Little Flower and raise funds for the work we do.

The Little Flower Penny Dinners is hoping to be shortlisted for the AIB Community Fund, which awards a number of charities each year with funding up to €20,000.

The funding would make a huge difference to our work, helping us continue to provide meals and support to people in our community.

We are so grateful to Iconic Offices on Thomas Street for choosing the Little Flower Penny Dinners again this year for their Culture Date with Dublin 8 fundraising event.

On Saturday 9th May they hosted a tour of their Iconic and historic workspace - The Masonry, with all proceeds going towards our charity. Together they raised €405 from the event.

Here’s an old photograph taken in the late 19th century from Poole Street, just a stone’s throw away from the Little Flower Penny Dinners here in the Liberties.

The image is a reminder of the levels of poverty and hardship that existed in the area at the time. Just a couple of decades later, in 1912, the Little Flower Penny Dinners began serving meals to people for just one penny. Things have changed a lot since then but our charity still continues to serve the area over 114 years later.

Today is the last day of National Volunteering Week 2026.

We would like to highlight Margaret and Dennis who are two of our incredible volunteers who help out with the meals-on-wheels deliveries and in October last year they won the Donore Credit Union Community Award.
